Winterization Supply List

 

All part numbers listed are specific to an Indmar Ford 351 HO and 1:1 Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission unless stated otherwise.

5 Quarts of motor oil. For engines with flat tappet cams, including Fords and possibly some pre Vortec Chevy marine engines, a motor oil containing the zinc additive ZDDP is recommended. I use Valvoline VR-1 Racing Oil (20W-50).

At least 2 quarts of Dexron III/Mercon Automatic Transmission Fluid.

One can of fogging oil or Marvel Mystery Oil (SAE 10)

Set of 8 spark plugs. Autolite 764 (gap to .035 for the 351 HO) (gap to .045 for PCM GT-40).  Base 351 gets Autolite 24.

Oil filter (For the 351, Motorcraft FL1A, Napa Gold 1515, or comparable WIX filter).

Fuel/Water separator spin-on filter (Napa Part Number 33225)

Fuel filter element (Napa Part Number 39413)

A fluid extractor or drill pump to remove oil and transmission fluid.

Teflon Tape.

Duck Tape.

Can of multipurpose grease.

Multi-Purpose Marine Grease and grease gun.

Carburetor Cleaner.

Enough
Sta-Bil Fuel Stabilizer to treat an entire tank of gas.

 If you have a PCM Ford with a Sherwood pump, you want this impeller.  If you have an Indmar engine (Chevy or Ford), you'll need this impeller..

Boat Wax

303 Aerospace Protectant or comparable Vinyl Protectant

A bottle of silicone lubricant spray
